Hello boys and girls, I hope you are all safe and enjoying spending time with your family.
We are loving seeing your photographs, they really are making us all smile in Nursery. We miss seeing you and hearing all of your stories.
Today I’d like you to do a few special jobs for me.
Let’s start our day in the usual way. 12.1.21 – Internet
Literacy – Can you remember what the story was about that we heard yesterday? I’ll give you a clue, it had magic beans in it. Can you tell your grown up what happened in the story. Who was in the story? Who was your favourite character? What did the giant keep saying? Why do you think Jack’s mam got a bit grumpy? Where did the story take place? Was it in the forest? Or a jungle? Why do you think Jack wanted the golden eggs?
Maths – today you are going to need something like plant pots and some magic beans. Maybe you could use plastic beakers or cups and anything that is small and you can count. You’re also going to need some little bits of paper to write the digits or draw dots on, Today we are going to count out magic beans to plant.
Pick a piece of paper with the number (or dots) on. What does it say? Is it a 2 or maybe a 4. Can you put that in front of the pot and plant that many beans. Remember to count the beans one at a time and put it in the pot before counting the next one.
Let’s get active – find a space where you can move around and not hurt yourself or bump into anything. Let’s try and be beans today. Can you start by being a runner bean… How about you try being a jumping bean… What about a walking bean…a hopping bean… What other type of bean could we be?
Song time – Yesterday you will have heard the song Goosey Goosey. Today I’d like you to play it again and try and learn it. It might take you a few tries, but go on, give it a go. https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/eyfs-listen-and-play-giants-and-beans/znwkbdm
Building – Can you build me a giant’s castle. You can use anything you like. You might want to use Lego or you might want to use some boxes or tins from your kitchen cupboards. Or you might want to find some junk in the recycling area. I’d love to see what you make!
Pencil control – Here are some puzzles, can you find your way out? 12.1.21 – pencil control maze
Cutting & Sticking – I know how much you all love to cut, so here are some pictures of Jack and the other characters. 12.1.21 – cutting
Remember to keep practise putting your shoes on and taking them off. It’s a tricky one, but I bet you’re getting better already.
I hope you have a lovely day.
Stay safe and look after each other.
Mrs Robinson, Mrs Lamb and Mrs Dixon.
