Good morning everyone, I hope you are all enjoying our story this week.

Let’s start our day in the normal way and look at our calendar and say our prayers.  https://youtu.be/1nbAjiFuXcs

Literacy – Can you remember what our story is this week?  Can you remember who the characters are?  Where does the story happen?  If you want to read or watch the story now you can.  Can we now try and sequence the story.  Can you remember what came first?  What happened at the very beginning?  Can you find that picture?  What happened after that?  is there a picture to go with that?  Here are lots of pictures, maybe start with 6 or so and then gradually add more if you are finding it easy. 20.1.21 – sequence

Phonics – I’ve got a listening game for us to play.  Can you guess what these sounds are?  https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/eyfs-listening-skills-inside-sounds/zr2m8xs

Prepositions – That’s a tricky word isn’t it.  Can you go and get a teddy bear and I’ll explain what it means.  Now I’m going to ask you to do some things, can you try to do a few different ones.

  • can you put the teddy on top of the chair please.  On top of, is the preposition.
  • can you put the teddy underneath the table please.  Underneath is a preposition.
  • can you put the teddy inside the fridge please.
  • please put the teddy in front of the televsion.
  • please put the teddy behind the box.

Play doh activity – if you don’t have any maybe you could make some salt dough instead.  Can you make me some chairs of different sizes.  How many legs do you think they’ll need?  What other parts does a chair have?

Jigsaw – Can you fix this jigsaw puzzle for me?  You’ll need two of these printed out – 1 to cut and 1 to look at.

20.1.21 – jigsaw

Today we’ve also got a lovely story for you read by Mrs Lamb.  https://youtu.be/Np-RGRGojjU

Pencil control – Can you trace over the letters.  Don’t forget to take you time and use your nippy fingers. 20.1.21 – pencil control

Stay safe x
