Good morning Year 2,
Today we will be doing English, Maths, History, PE and we’ll end with our story. I will feedback on the English work today.
Remember we are going to meet together using Google Classroom at 2.45 pm this afternoon. I’m really looking forward to seeing you. I will read Chapter 9 of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, so if you can join us don’t listen to the story video below!
Please keep reading. Try to read a little bit every day. Remember you can login into Oxford Owl using the username and passwords y2smst. Once you’ve logged in, I would recommend that you click on the level at the right hand side. Move it down to the Book Band level Turquoise. Then today I’d recommend that you read the book ‘Colour Codes’.
Please don’t worry if you’re reading something else at home – keep reading that!
In English today we will be looking at different types of sentences – statement, command, question and exclamation. We will look at some examples of each of these sentences types and then you will sort some sentences into the correct group. Work your way through the PowerPoint presentation first before you begin the sorting activity.
In maths today you will continue to rehearse your subtraction skills. If you need to, look back at yesterdays video to help you remember the strategy. I have uploaded the video below.
Today in history we will answer a collection of ‘Why’ questions. Your answers will involve an explanation. You need to think about everything you have learnt to help you answer these questions and you must write in full sentences. Your answer should include the word ‘because’.
Before you begin your task today, I’d like you to play this quick Great Fire of London quiz, to help you recall some of the facts you know …
It’s PE again today. Here’s another Joe Wicks workout to keep you fit and active.
Today we’ll read the chapter 9 of our story ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.
Have a great day everyone!
Mrs Gourley 🙂
