Good morning Year 2,
Today we will be doing English, Maths, French, PE and we’ll end with our story. I will feedback on the English work today.
Remember we are going to meet together using Google Classroom at 2.45 pm this afternoon. I’m really looking forward to seeing you. I will read Chapter 8 of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, so if you can join us don’t listen to the video below!
Please keep reading. Try to read a little bit every day. Remember you can login into Oxford Owl using the username and passwords y2smst. Once you’ve logged in, I would recommend that you click on the level at the right hand side. Move it down to the Book Band level Turquoise. Then today I’d recommend that you read the book ‘Baba Yaga’.
Please don’t worry if you’re reading something else at home – keep reading that!
In English today we will continue our work on exclamations. You will have a go at writing your own exclamations. Work through the PowerPoint first, before you begin the task.
In maths today you need to watch the video very carefully. We will be learning how to subtract 2 digit numbers. It will involve having to exchange a ten for some ones so please watch it very carefully. You then will complete some practical work using your Dienes blocks to solve these calculations.
32 – 15 41 – 27 53 – 29 62 – 34 65 – 28 71 – 45 83 – 47 95 – 59
Parents and helpers can I please ask that you do not show your child the formal written calculation that you would have been taught. The children will eventually be taught this, but not yet.
This week in French you will be learning about the things in your school bag. Click here to access your work.
You have an activity sheet to complete. Can you please email this to Mrs Innerdale. Her email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Tuesday is PE day. Here is another Joe Wicks workout for you to do.
We will continue reading our class story today ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. We will read Chapter 8. We will read this together on Google Classroom at 2.45pm so please don’t listen to this video if you are able to join us.
I hope everyone works hard and tries their best in all of today’s activities.
Have fun too!
Mrs Gourley 🙂
