Good morning Year 2,

Today we will be doing Reading Comprehension, Maths, Science and Handwriting. I will be giving feedback on your science task.

We will meet again today at 2.45 pm through Google Classroom. Remember today you need to have some small digit cards 0-9 for a game we will play. These can just be small squares of paper with the numbers clearly written on. (Try to write the numbers clearly in felt pen so I’ll be able to see them – remember my eye sight isn’t great! :-))

Remember you can login into Oxford Owl using the username and passwords y2smst. Once you’ve logged in, I would recommend that you click on the level at the right hand side. Move it down to the Book Band level Turquoise. Then today I’d recommend that you read the story ‘Holiday in Japan’.

Please don’t worry if you’re reading something else at home – keep reading that!

Reading Comprehension

Today’s task involved thinking carefully about some of the vocabulary we’ve heard so far in our story ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. If you need to, remember you can play back some of the videos to help or if you have the story ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ perhaps you could look through this too. These questions are only based on the part we have read so far.

In maths today we will continue with what we started yesterday. Watch the video first before you begin to recap first. Then pause to complete the practical examples before you look at the pictorial representations sheet.

Practical questions – 37 + 48      72 + 19      57 + 39      66 + 29      15 + 77

Adding 2 digit numbers online

In science we will continue learning about animals and humans. Today’s lesson focuses on the importance of exercise to our bodies. Click here to watch the video and then complete the worksheet below.

In today’s handwriting lesson we will look at the letter ‘i’. Remember to keep pausing the video to give you plenty of time to rehearse the letters, letter combinations and words.

I hope you all have a great day! Keep working hard!

Mrs Gourley 🙂
