Good morning Year 2!

I hope everyone is well. We’re nearly at Friday … 2 more days to go! Today on our timetable we have English, Maths, Geography, PE and we’ll end the day with another chapter of our story ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. Today I will feedback on your Geography work.

We’ll be meeting at 9.00am and 2.45pm on Google Classroom again today,

Please keep reading. Try to read a little bit every day. Remember you can login into Oxford Owl using the username and passwords y2smst. Once you’ve logged in, I would recommend that you click on the level at the right hand side. Move it down to the Book Band level Turquoise. Then today I’d recommend that you read the book ‘Attack of the chomping nibblers’.’.

Please don’t worry if you’re reading something else at home – keep reading that!

In English over the next couple of days  we are going to create a WANTED poster. We will imagine that the police are searching for The Big, Bad Wolf. We will help them in their search by writing a detailed description of the wolf on Friday. Today we will focus on creating some amazing expanded noun phrases to describe the wolf’s  features. Listen carefully to the PowerPoint presentation where I talk you through and remind you how to create an expanded noun phrases.

In maths we will continue our work on money. Today we are going to do a recap session of counting pounds and pence. This is a little tricky and I think we need to spend just a little more time looking at it. All of my ‘money’ I use for teaching is at school so I’ve made a little PowerPoint presentation to guide you through it.

In geography today we will be looking at some maps of London. We’ll then look at a special map of London that has been made for children. You will try to label some of the landmarks on this map.

If you have any spare time you could begin to find some of the London Landmarks on Google Maps

Landmark Research – Now you are going to choose one London Landmark. Using what you already know, but perhaps you’d like to research this landmark even further. Can you write down 6 interesting facts about this landmark? We’ll be using these facts tomorrow for an activity.

Click here for a good website to help you find some facts about London Landmarks

PLEASE KEEP YOUR MAP AND YOUR FACTS IN A SAFE PLACE. You’ll need your map next week for geography and you’ll need your facts tomorrow.

It’s time for PE again. here’s a Joe Wicks workout to keep you active!

We’ll end the day with another chapter of our story ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. If you are joining us on Google Classroom today, please don’t watch the video because we’ll read this together.

Have a great day! Work hard but have fun too!
