Good morning Year 2!
Could I please ask the parents of the children who are usually class based to send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org this morning. I’ll then send you your child’s login and password for Google Classroom so they can hopefully join us this afternoon at 2.45pm. Please send all of your work in one email to this email address no later than 8 pm this evening. Thank you.
Today on our timetable we have English, Maths, French and PE. We’ll end the day with the next part of our story ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. Today I will feedback on your Maths work.
We’ll be meeting once again on Google Classroom at 2.45pm. I’ll be reading Chapter 11 of our story, so if you are joining us please don’t listen to the story. Those children who were at school yesterday we didn’t get Chapter 10 read because we were all sent home early. Please make sure you listen to Chapter 10 first before our meeting at 2.45pm. The video link is below.
Please keep reading. Try to read a little bit every day. Remember you can login into Oxford Owl using the username and passwords y2smst. Once you’ve logged in, I would recommend that you click on the level at the right hand side. Move it down to the Book Band level Turquoise. Then today I’d recommend that you read the book ‘Battle with the Beast’.
Please don’t worry if you’re reading something else at home – keep reading that!
Today we are beginning our work on Traditional Tales. We’ll be focusing on the story ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ which I’m sure you all know really well. However, I’d like you to listen to and read the story along with me on the video link below ..
Now, we are going to take part in some role play. So if there are people in your house who can help and join in with you get ready to take part in some role play activities from the story. Pick out some key events that you could act out. Perhaps you could swap roles so you have a go at being all of the characters. I have attached a brief outline of the story to help you.
If everyone is busy, don’t worry, I have attached some images of the characters so you can cut them out and stick them to little sticks, straws or even pencils. Then you can act the story out using the stick puppets you have made.
Today in maths we will continue our work on money. Today we’ll be looking at counting money – notes.
In French today you will be looking at numbers again. However this week you will look at numbers up to 20. Click here to work your way through Mrs. Innerdale’s presentation.
I have attached another of Joe Wicks video for PE today. I know many of you are doing many other active activities so please don’t worry if you’d rather continue with these rather than complete this workout.
Finally to end the day we’ll listen to the next part of our story ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. If you are joining us for Google Classroom, please don;t listen to the story as we’ll read it together.
I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Mrs. Gourley 🙂
