Good Morning Year 2!
Today’s timetable will include; Google Classroom, English, Maths, RE and Art. I will feedback on your RE work today.
English today will focus on Chapter 2 of George’s Marvellous Medicine. If you don’t have the story at home, I’d like you to listen carefully to this chapter,
Now I’d like you to watch this video clip … click here to access it.
George was fed up with Grandma being so mean and unkind towards him. He wanted to think of a marvellous plan to get her back. Today you will think about George’s plan and then I want to see what creative ideas you have to get Grandma back.
Follow the PowerPoint presentation below and then record your ideas.
In maths today we will continue to work in shape, looking at both 2D and 3D shapes. Today we will be focusing making 3D shapes. Watch the video link below.
I’d like you to have a go now at making your own 3D shapes at home. You could use some of your construction toys such as lego, k’nex or possibly using straws, lolly sticks, cocktails sticks with blu-tac, marshmallows or midget gems. Don’t worry if you don’t have anything to use, we’ll have a go at this in class next week.
I have attached some 3D shape nets that you could have a go at making too. The video link here explains exactly what a net is.
In RE today we will continue with the work we started on Friday about Islam. I have included everything we learnt on Friday in the PowerPoint to remind you. Today our focus is going to be on ‘wudu’. This is the washing Muslim’s do as a mark of respect before prayer. Work through the PowerPoint presentation below and also click here to watch a short video clip on Wudu.
For you task, I’d like you to create a poster that explains to people what wudu is and when, what and how Muslim’s wash before prayer.
In Art today I’d like you to design your own Islamic prayer mat. Look back at the PowerPoint from RE to learn about some of the features of a prayer mat and have a go at designing your own.
