Good morning Year 3,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Thank you for sending through your work on Friday and not being too distracted by all of that snow!

For our learning today, we are going to carry on with our BFG topic for English and combine addition and subtraction within maths. We will also be carrying on our new geography topic, Flow, which we started in class. To finish off the day,  I would like you to complete a PE activity.

English

In this lesson, we will practice extending sentences using joining words. We will then  carry on writing the first part of the opening. Make sure you have the work you completed on Friday to refer back to.

Maths

Today you will be using the skills you have been developing last week. You are going to be adding and subtracting hundreds. You may be able to do this mentally but you can also use objects such as lego or a place value grid to help you and to check your answers.

Geography

As part of our Flow topic, I would like you to investigate the course of a river. Use the slides to help you learn the different parts of the rivers journey. You could also complete some of your own research too. When you have read all of the information, complete the worksheet. You either need to fill in the missing text or draw the missing picture.

PE

I would like you to carry out a PE lesson at home today. I have set you some circuit activities. Use some socks or something you can not trip over, to mark your floor. Once you are ready, make sure you complete the warm up first, then move your way around the circuit, watching each video in order.

I hope you have enjoyed your tasks today. I look forward to hearing from you.
