Good morning Year 3.
Today you will be doing English, Math, Science and ICT. I will be giving feedback on your Science task.
For your English task today I would like to to create your own character and describe how they are feeling. Follow the instructions in the video below. I hope you enjoy creating your own character 🙂
Your math task today will focus on related calculations. You need to think about the different tables you are using and how they link today. For example if 2 x 5 = 10 then 2 x 50 must = 100. Watch the video and complete the worksheet shown below.
We will carry on our light topic this week and for our task today we will look at opaque, transparent and translucent materials. Read through the slides which describes the differences between them. When you understand which is which, fill this in on the worksheet. Then, carry on reading through the slides to complete the quiz and find out about today’s activity, make sure you complete the worksheet as you go.
This week, to link in with Design Technology and our Erasmus project, I would like you to research a local landmark, The Tyne bridge, using search tools and an appropriate website.
Today you have two tasks, the first is to read through the ‘What is the internet’ part of the presentation. Next use the key words ‘Tyne bridge’ to trial 3 different search engines (choose from list below). When you are searching, I would like you to think about the following questions:
- What are the first 3 results? Compare across the different search engines used.
- What is the same/different between the given search engines?
- Do the search engines give the information you were looking for?
- Is it easy to read and understand?
For the second part of your task, I would like you to research facts about the Tyne bridge using a search engine of your choice. Possibly use the one that you found the easiest to use or the one that produced the most useful information regarding ‘Tyne bridge’. Complete the research template provided.
Enjoy your tasks today. I look forward to receiving your work.
