Good morning Year 3

I am looking forward to seeing you all at 9am today.

I hope you have all been practicing your spellings ready for Friday. Today you are going to write the final part of the build-up for the BFG, in maths you will move back on to subtraction but, just for today, there will be no exchanges. You will also have an RE task and a PE activity to complete. Today I will be feeding back on your English task.

We are going to finish our work on the BFG today. You will be writing the second part of your build-up. After the work I saw yesterday on the first part of your build up, I am very excited to see the work you do today! I was on the edge of my seat reading your build-ups.

We will continue our practice with subtraction today but we are going to challenge ourselves by moving on to subtracting two 3-digit numbers. Always remember your place value and make sure you line up your columns correctly. Today you will not be making any exchanges, it is about practicing the technique. However, tomorrow you will be back to exchanging!

You are going to carry on your work looking at the Liturgical year. I would like you to focus on the Feast of St Paul which is celebrated on 25th January. Read through the slides and get to know the story of St Paul’s conversion. When you have done this, you are going to write a diary entry as if you are St Paul. Remember to start with Dear Diary and think about his work before his conversion, what happened to him and how he would have felt after.

Today you are going to do a Zootropolis exercise. Follow the instructions in the slides below, see if you can challenge yourself to make up some of your own moves too! When you are finished, there is another sock challenge for you to try (see if you can beat mummy and daddy or brothers and sisters today).

Enjoy your tasks today. I look forward to hearing from you later.
