Good morning Year 5.
Welcome to another day of home learning. Today we will focus on Maths, English, Geography and Music.
I will be giving feedback on your Maths work today.
I will also be staying live after our google meet today at 9:15am, and I will be starting to read our class reader ‘Holes’ by Louis Sachar. I hope to see you all there.
Today we will focus on adding fractions with different denominators. This can be tricky, what you need to remember is that the denominator (the bottom of a fraction) must be the same in order to add or subtract fractions. This is where you need your knowledge of equivalent fractions. Watch this helpful video to guide you through the process. Don’t be afraid to watch this video more than once to understand the method used.
Complete the worksheet below:
Today you are writing your own letter, it is important that you listen carefully to the video and follow the instructions.
For your lesson today please watch the video link below. This is a fantastic video produced by the national geographic which discusses volcanoes in more depth.
Now read through the PowerPoint provided to understand further details of different types and stages of volcanoes.
Now complete this worksheet, labelling the different parts of a volcano. I have included two diagrams, one of these you could add colour. You can also create, in the second diagram, a brief description of each label in the box provided.
Following on from our work learning the Harry Potter theme, I would like you to focus on rhythm. Watch the lesson below and follow the instructions given.
I hope you all enjoy your day.
