Good morning Year 5.

Welcome back everyone. I hope you all enjoyed a lovely half term break. We will be taking part in a welcome back google classroom meeting at 9:15am today, see you then.

We begin another week of Lockdown learning. Today we will focus on Maths, English, RE and Music. Tomorrow during our google meeting at 9:15am, I will feedback on Maths and discussing any other misconceptions.

We will continue our work on statistics this week. Watch the video lesson below which will guide you through reading and interrupting information from a table. Once you have watched this, complete the worksheet provided.

Today we will start a new topic in English. We will be learning to write a biography. We will begin today by identifying the key features of a biography. Make sure to answer all questions and send these to me at the end of the day.

Following on from our last RE lesson before half term, today we will look in more detail at the Eucharist and its importance during our Mass.

Read through the PowerPoint presentation below.

Next, answer these questions:

Q             What is the Eucharist a memorial or memory of?

Q             Where do the words the priest says come from?

Q             What happens to the bread and wine?

Q             What do you think is meant by the real presence of Jesus?

Q             What effect do you think this part of the Mass has on Catholics?

Q             Why do you think it is important to them?

Finally, I would like you to quietly reflect upon this part of the Eucharistic prayer, you could create a spider diagram around the image in the worksheet to help organise your thoughts. Answer this question, what do Catholics believe?



This lesson will begin with a traditional Indian lullaby, followed by learning the key features of Indian classical music, and how to clap the Tala cycles. Following this, you will have the opportunity to compose a Tala cycle of your own.
