Good morning Year 5.
I look forward to seeing you all this morning during our google meeting at 9:15am.
As part of your return to school, Miss White has asked if everyone can complete and return this short task to me. If you have already emailed this to me that is great, thank you.
Today we will be focusing on Maths, English, Geography and Art. During our morning meeting tomorrow, I will be providing feedback on your art and geography work, along with any other misconceptions.
Let’s get started with our tasks for today.
Today in Maths we will begin to compare and order numbers up to 100,000. You will have to use your knowledge of greater than, less than and equal to, as well as your knowledge of Roman Numerals. Watch the video and complete the worksheet below.
In this lesson, you are going to write your first three paragraphs of your biography of Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman led hundreds of enslaved people to freedom along the route of the Underground Railroad.
Following on from our research and understanding of Sir Frances Drake, I would like us to think about the importance of maps and how they are used.
Here is a set of tasks to complete all about maps.
Make sure you complete each section and record your answers and send these to me.
After our first lesson drawing still life, we will use our google morning meeting to discuss in more detail what your task is today.
For those who cannot attend the meeting, I would like you now to repeat the same set up of a still life scene, however this time we are looking at the finer details of the subject you are drawing. We will also be adding appropriate colour to the scene.
Look through the PowerPoint PDF below, here you will discover an artist called Carl Warner, look through his art work in the PowerPoint and answer the questions on the separate PDF (art questions). Although Carl Warner is not drawing a still life image like we are, his use of detail and colour in his are work is very good and it is these ideas we should use in our own art work.
Enjoy your day, I am looking forward to seeing your art work today.
